Acer netbook 'forgetting' HH3 passcode

Afternoon all,

I've recently had my new flat hooked up with phone and internet from BT, and while my Tosh laptop seems quite happy with it the same cannot be said of my Acer netbook.

Every time I either boot it up or enter the admin password to turn off the screen saver it's un-able to connect to the HH3 and the only way I seem to be able to get it to connect is to re-enter the passcode.

Anyone else experienced this? Or even better, anyone have a solution to the problem?!

Thanks,

Libby

Re: Acer netbook 'forgetting' HH3 passcode

I have exactly the same problem.

My wife and daughter have Aspire One Linux Netbooks, and both fail to connect wirelessly on a frustratingly intermittant basis - although, plug them in via ethernet and they work fine! Two seperate XP laptops, Wii, Blackberries and Xbox connect wirelessly OK.

Changing from WPA to WEP to no encryption changes nothing.

Temporary fixes seem to be the deletion of each connection profile and re-entering the information - works until the HH3 is reset. The event log seems to show the IP address is constantly renewed.

Elsewhere it seems the only fix is to install a new OS on the Aspire One.
