worth bearing in mind that gigabit really isn't needed for everything

 - I use gigabit on our home PCs and laptops (when docked) as they are capable of transferring 700+ Mbps - great for file sharing etc

 - I have a windows server with shared photos/music etc -- again this can serve files at 500-600 Mbps

 - my previous NAS although having gigabit never really achieved much over 100Mbps speeds

 - TV, bluray, sky etc for iplayer streaming won't come close to needing gigabit

Currently my Gbe devices are on a 8 port switch, but am only using a 100 Mbps connection to the HH3 -- not an issue as my BB is only 35 Mbps. Though I didn try the GBe port but kept on getting poor performance and data errors (from all devices I tried, all of which worked fine with the other GBe switch with the same cables...)
