Adding son's name to get bill in his name

Go to solution

I would like to receive BT bill in my son's name as well. He don't have any account in BT. So I would like to add his name in my BT account to receive the BT bills in his name. How to do this?

You're not allowed to transfer the agreement to someone else, to have your son as the account holder would mean he signs up to BT, takes over the existing line, this closes the previous account and creates a new agreement with a new minimum term.

Worth making sure you're outside the minimum term, if the takeover is done then the account closing can be subject to early termination fees.

@mab1946

You can simply change the bank details on your direct debit, so that the money comes out of his bank account instead, but you would be responsible if its not paid.

I understood, separate agreement to be signed with BT. My queries are

1. Without visiting BT store, (Online preferred) is it possible to transfer the line.

2. Required documents

your son needs to sign up for a BT account with a working line takeover - there is no simple transfer

he needs to phone BT sales
