Hi all
Just wanted to share something interesting with those already on FTTC.
I've been on Infinity2 for a year now. My original estimate from BT was 41/6. My max attainable rate is about 37/7 but I have been getting a rock steady 34/6 service. No drop outs or restrictions. Been happy with that considering distance from the cab and ali on the service.
Now then. A few weeks back I noticed that my speeds would drop to 24/6. Checking the modem stats I found that the max attainable rate had changed to 27/6.
A modem reset would then take it back up to what I had been getting. This I have to do every few days.
I often keep an eye on "developments" on my cab using the site

I noticed that not only has FTTP "on demand" appeared as an option but my estimate for FTTC has now dropped/adjusted to about what I am now occasionally experiencing!
Has anyone else had this unexplained change to their speeds due to the "addition" of FTTP to their cab?
Cheers

I appreciate that FTTP oD is a separate offering. As I said in my original post it has now appeared on our exchange. I am just wondering what has changed and has affected my service.
Mods replied. Seems that the service has returned back to normal. I will keep this post open for a few days more.

My estimates have gone down as well. from 19.8MB down to 18.1MB downstream but I get 25MB Down anyway so I am not to concerned at the moment but yes it has changed for me!.

You mean the estimates have gone back up?
No. 🙂
But my actual speeds have returned to what they used to be which is good. I just hope that they stay that way. I don't have much confidence though.
