If your problem has just started since you installed "AVG Stuff" I would say that is a good place to start.
Try this log on and if it doesn't work, remove your "AVG Stuff" and see how you get on.
I had AVG free basic antivirus for some years with no problems. Two days ago, after receiving an email from a spammer telling me that he knew, and correctly quoting, my password, (one which I had used to join a geneology site the previous day) I bought and installed AVG Internet Security and AVG VPN on my laptop, which runs Windows 10 Home. Since then when I try to log into BT email, (bt.com), firstly there is a red block on the right side of the screen which says Feedback and then after entering my email address and password, correctly, I get the red block above Sign in saying Check that I have entered my username and password correctly. Completing the Feedback form makes no difference.
I don't want to uninstall the Security and VPN as I have paid for them and my previous antihacking setup was obviously inadequate. I can get emails on my phone and can log into BT email on my wife's pc which doesn't have AVG, so everything points to the problem being AVG. But there must be a setting somewhere in AVG Internet Security which allows login to bt.com Does anyone know what it is, or can they suggest another solution, please.
For anybody who has the same problem, it appears to have been solved. I set all the Network settings in AVG Internet Security to Private and also disconnected the AVG VPN and then changed the location to one in the country where I am (not UK). Then I could log into BT Mail.
Thanks all,I tried with my limited ability,a process of elimination, going back to my mechanic days LOL, it was something in the Tune up,where it had shut down so called unnecessary sytems running in the back ground, gradually turned them on,and voila got it back, thanks for support though
If it still doesn't log in, close the AVG VPN completely then try. It should work, and after you have logged into BT Mail you can restart the VPN.
