Some content from Amazon video is chargeable, so Amazon would need a payment method within the YouView platform, and some form of licencing check.

YouView does not have a web browser, so that may present a problem.

Only sort of true. YouView uses HTML5 which is a browser technology and is used by Netflix and BBC Red Button.

You're right that there's no user controllable browser but one wouldn't be needed - if Amazon was to be added it'd be via an app and, just like Sky Store, would deploy its own payment method and licencing check within that app.

An Amazon Prime subscriber would not need to pay for Prime Content, but just need something like an id.

Re: Amazon video

Is that a hint 4KMarty about trialling it?

I agree Amazon does well selling its own devices yet they still have deals on games consoles so just thought this wuld be next logical step.

NO! I'm not a trialist. I'd have no idea what's being trialled.
