Hi,
Does anybody have a solution to Android Outlook continually asking for login credentials.
I dont k how if this is just a BT Yahoo problem or if BT Email users suffer from it as well.
There is a stack of stuff on the outlook community website, but no solution.
Does anybody on the BT community have a solution
Have you tried resetting your account on the device you're having problems with?
I have a @btinternet mail address and I've set Outlook up for IMAP and it's fine.
To reset.
Open Outlook
Tap the circled Inbox symbol , top left of screen
Tap the settings cog, bottom left of screen
Tap the account name, top of screen under the heading Accounts
Below "Advanced Settings", you'll see "Sync Issues?Try resetting your account" below that:-
Tap 'Reset Account'
Hi @Bluemango,
Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post.
Sorry to hear that you are having problems with accessing your emails using a client.
Are you able to log into webmail via BT.com without any issues?
When you log into webmail does it show BT Yahoo at the top of the page?
Have you changed your password within the past 72 hours?
Look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks
Matt
Hi,
Logging into webmail is not a problem.
Using Outlook Client on Windows is not a problem.
Problem only occurs in Android, in Outlook Client. It does not happen in other clients.
I suspect, but do not know, that it only affect BT yahoo BTopenworld email addresses, I suspect it do not affect BTMail Btopenworld email addresses.
See also threads on Outlook community.
This problem has driven me up the wall, now I have to use the outlook client to access some email addresses and the default android email app to access my btopenworld email.
Does anybody from the BT email team ever look at these at these web pages and examine the problems.
And yes Password changes have been made without effect.
Have you tried going into Settings, Apps and clearing cache And data for Outlook?
you will need to set account up again if you do
I have tried clearing the cache and data and deleting the app and reinstalling the client and resetting up the account.
Guys,
this isnt just me , there is a stack of stuff on the web about people having suffered with this problem for ages.
There must be a known problem, with a a known solution. Someone at BT email team, And/or Microsoft Outlook must
be able to says, this is the reason for the fault, this is the solution.
Please.
Thanks for your reply, I'm sorry that you have been unable to find a solution to your problem.
As the issue is not happening on all email clients and only on Outlook for Android we don't believe that the issue is on our end.
Thanks
Matt
