Are there delays or problems processing cheque payments?

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My elderly mother paid her account by cheque on 10th February but it hasn't been processed to her account yet.  She had a call from BT last week threatening to cut her off. Then it appeared the caller said that there was a delay in processing cheque payments so she wasn't cut off.

I only found out about this today when looking at the account as she wants to upgrade to broadband (with DD payments of course!) Her account has had a late payment fee added to it and a notice that the line will be disconnected from Tuesday 13th April if not paid.

A bit confused by it all so it would be helpful to know if this is an issue with BT.

Many thanks

Hi @JackieN

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting.

I'm sorry that your Mum has been told she is going to be cut off.  I appreciate she is elderly and that it is vital that she has a working service.

Have you spoken with the helpdesk?  You can reach them on 0800 800 150.  If you have and you're no further forward you can get in touch with us.

I have sent you a private message with instructions on how you can send us over your details and we'll look into this for you. See: Private messages

Cheers,

Robbie
