My name is Lulili. You have called me two different names so far which I assumed was a mocking response. Please stop harrassing me. I am now going to disable notifications.

I got a similar "termination" phone call yesterday (07/05) around 13:00, then this morning somebody from "the technical services", then ten minutes ago (08/05 13:10) the same message as yesterday. I am told of a termination of service tonight and being asked to dial 1 for technical services or 2 for immediate termination.

I am very doubtful it is BT calling as I replaced my router beginning of March and entered a new contract for 18 (or 24) months then.

Hi.

It isn't BT calling, it's scammers hoping to frighten people into responding. They then get the person to use something like Teamviewer to get remote access to their computer in order to steal details.

(Hope you don't mind me saying, interesting time machine you've got there 🙂 )

The BT “Report a Scam  Call” utility can help to some extent. The more users enter numbers, the more results will be achieved.

It’s not just “BT” calls, it’s “Microsoft” calls. If you take browse through the “Who Calls me” website - one of many available, you can check for comments on junk callers.

Have noticed that several calls are logged in the listing of calls on MyBt and sent to junk, even though I have not entered them.

It’s a very slow but effective process of elimination.

Yes, I get both. However this thread is about Automated Calls. There are other threads about live calls.

I’m well aware of that I was just letting the other person know that you can get both.

  • Hi exactly the same thing just happened to me.

Although I was actually waiting for the engineer to come and fix a fault and whilst waiting I got that same call. I thought it was bt at first. Coincidence or what ??

While I am on here I would like to know if anyone gets a unsecured connection displayed when trying to connect to router settings using an up to date PC and ethernet connection ?

It is a bt homehub2 router..

Any advice how to fix this please

Thanks in advance

To avoid answers that have nothing to do with this thread you should start a new thread regarding your problem.

Re: Automated scam message?

Received a phone call from what looked like a local number which turned out to be an automated message from BT that informed me that my internet connection was going to be terminated within 24 hours due to suspicious hacking detected on my connection, usual press 1 etc....this is worrying because it's the first time a local area landline number has been used on me, usually it's a shorter number with non local digits...is this new??..I ignored it and reported it but it is still worrying.
