Re: BB Connection Keeps dropping

welcome to the community forum where members help members

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the   adsl stats  from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems) bt speedtester  and post the results .

are you connected directly to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

as it may well not be the same problem with the same solution I would suggest you start your own subject and post the ame information I requested - router stats and bt speedtester

I do not think im connected to the master. Im connected to an AV plate behind TV similar to this. http://www.aerialshack.com/triax-304115-screened-plate-p-484.html

Master in hall and another slave in bedroom.

Quiet test fine.

Re: BB Connection Keeps dropping

if your router is connected to that socket it must be close to the tv which can cause connection problems.  also are you connected wireless as against wired.

you are very close to the exchange and are on adslmax with the maximum 8mb connection speed

this may help as well

Re: BB Connection Keeps dropping

Not near the exchange  and beibe that 8mb Max is my limit, Im in a rural area.

The router is not near the TV but is connect to the wall via a 15 meter phone cable extention. Could this be it?

The PC is connected to the rounter via a cable.

Re: BB Connection Keeps dropping

according to your attenuation you are less than 1km form the exchange hence why te good 8mb connection speed.  the standard telephone extension cable often causes problems with noise on the line as there is no shielding - so is it socket - filter - extension cable - router?

if you have sky is it connected to the filter as the phone socket?
