BB Speed from 7.1Mbs down to under 2Mbs - any ideas

Hi all,

 

First ever post to the forums as my BB connection has been trouble-free for the last 4 years. Been a very happy BT Customer until 2 weeks ago when my speed suddenly dropped to around 1.8Mbs from 7.1Mbs.

 

I live pretty close to the exchange and even the BT Techs have said I should get a speed of around 7 with my set up.

 

Here are my stats from the Homehub (version 2.0)

I'm guessing this is something to do with the IP Profile, but as I didn't check what it was before I had issues, I can't be sure.

 

The BT Techs did an SNR reset this morning but not seen any improvement as yet. I know they said it can take up to 10 days...

 

I have had other issues with the Hub where it was losing wireless connections with my devices. This was resolved by moving the Channel to 11 but am still suspicious that the hub could be on its way out. It is two years or older.

 

Can anyone offer any help with what my issue might be please?

as you have more than 3+ days connection on hub I think your profile is stuck at 2mb and you need contact the mods to get it kicked into action - should be 7.15

 

contact mods



can take up to 3 working days for mods to contact you

no resets just leave connected until mods fix it

It looks like your IP profile is stuck. Do as IMJ has suggested.

 

 

They normally respond by phone or e-mail, within three working days, however you should get an immediate confirmation, with a tracking number.

i had the same problem as you, it took 7 phone calls to the tmc depratment to get the ip proflie changed, it has now been done and the speed is still all over the place, good luck

IP Profile on the line was set back to 7.1 and all is good.
