Problem) Watching BBC Iplayer with a BT Business Hub 3 on an infinity 60Mbps connection and buffering every 3 minutes or so.
Solution) Watching BBC Iplayer with a £10 6 year old Netgear router and BBC Iplayer plays for days without buffering.
Conclusion) The bt hub 3.0 is as reliable as an Icelandic bank!
What's the difference?
That's intereting news. It does point towards the hub being below standard.
Well BT, what are your comments on that?
Can we get a new router from you?
It is clearly a BT infinity problem. I had been using BBC iPlayer on my Philips Smart TV for ages with no problems using an old Home Hub via WiFi. I upgraded to BT infinity and a Home Hub 5. I now have massive bandwidth but every 30 mins or so the iPlayer drops, by that I mean it drops the WiFi connection completely. The quickest way to restart is to switch the TV off then on, reconnecting from the TV menu does not always work. My sons Samsung Android phone drops the connection quite frequently as well. These issues arrose the moment I switched to Infinity.
I am a technology professional with over 25 years of postgrad experience. It is not a settup issue it is clearly a BT issue.
Come on BT this really is not good enough.
It will be a Homehub 5 wireless issue, not an Infinity issue. lf it was an Infinity issue it would drop all connections not just wireless ones. If you are streaming video you are better to use a wired connection rather than wireless.
Try turning off "smart wireless" and giving the wireless a fixed channel.
You could download a Wifi Analyser app for you phone. It will show you the wireless channels and which one your Homehub is on. You want to find the channel with the least congestion, ie. least number of users. Once you have that you need to change your homehub onto that channel.
See link how to change channel on homehub

Just tried it. Works fine for me.
EDIT: I tried the one in my post and I get the error as well but when I tried the link in your post it works OK. Don't know why that would be. It is the same link!
Try this one.
