Just tried it this evening and looks like we are back to square 1
buffering again ... but why ... it was working just fine 24 hours ago ?
OK ... just rebooted the homehub and all seems OK again
The problem seems to be narrowing down to the functionality of the HH3 !
Come on BT ... lets get it fixed please !!!!
It's worth reporting to the mods here. Together we might get a solution. This is what Dean M wrote a few pages back.
We aren't aware of any problems with set top boxes and streaming iPlayer content but if anyone's having this problem please fill out our contact form as linked above and mark it for my attention. Please also attach the following information:
- Broadband technology (ADSL/BT Infinity)
- Current speeds along with an up to date, full speedtest from www.speedtester.bt.com (not the beta test)
- Make, model and firmware on your set top box
- Make, model and firmware on your router and whether you are connecting via a wired/wireless connection
- General overview of the issues you are having as well as whether it is affecting any other apps such as Lovefilm, Netflix, ITV/Channel 4 player etc.
Please make sure to include all of the above information - once we have enough examples we'll get the problem looked at to see if we can identify any problems on our end.
pretty much same as me. Had no problems AT ALL before I moved to infinity from ADSL. I also have a Panasonic TV (can't remember model off top of my head) I get around the 70mb/s on download tests and iplayer works fine on my PC, but iplayer on the TV just buffers. I'm also suffering from very slow downloads on Sky Anytime+ its very hit and miss but most of the time its really really slow!
Dean McFarland of BT is looking into this problem: He needs more informaiton from others with this problem as described above.

ok I'm going to email the mods tomorrow. I have just done a bit of testing and despite getting 64mb/s on the speedtest iplayer is buffering (iPlayer on my PC is fine) and Sky Anytime+ is really really slow. When we first got infinity back in May both sky anytime+ and iplayer were really good, now they are both unusable and have been for ages, which is a pain as iplayer and anytime+ are the reason I got infinity and to be honest its worse than ADSL
I too think it’s a HH3 issue. Did some testing last night and had some odd results! First off before we had Infinity (installed in May) everything was fine very reliable, iplayer worked perfectly on my PC and on our Panasonic Viera TX-L32E30B using a Panasonic DY-WL10E-K Wireless USB Adapter, when Infinity was first installed things were also fine for ages (can’t say when things started to get slow) but now things are very hit or miss.
Anyway last night (19:30’ish) I tried iPlayer on the telly, loads of buffering unusable, also tried to download something via Sky Anytime+ really slowwwwww. Tried iplayer streaming on the PC, no issues at all, tired streaming Sky on the PC again no problems. Then I tried to download from Skygo on my PC, very slow, tried to download from iplayer very slow (56kb/sec), did a download of a large 1.5gb ISO from technet as a test, worked fine (7mb/sec!)
About an hour later did the same kind of testing process and everything was fine! Download from iplayer 1.15Gb file less than 2 mins, skygo download worked fine, very quick, Sky Anytime+ downloading quickly and iplayer on the TV working without buffering. BUT a few minutes later things were back to really slow again! So it seems to be a really sporadic issue, but the common factors are that streaming on the PC, both iPlayer and Sky are ALWAYS totally fine, but downloading on iPlayer, skygo, Sky anytime+ and iplayer on the TV can be very intermittent.
My exchange code is WWPOLP it’s a rural exchange in Cornwall (I was the first person in the village to have infinity installed) and as most of the properties in the village are holiday letts I don’t think it’s likely to be a contention issue!

Hi guys, a quick update/observation - we're still looking into this but 3 of the users whose details I've received are using the same TV (Panasonic Viera TX-L32E30B). Have you all double checked with Panasonic to confirm there are no known problems on their end?
