BT 4600 Twin Handsets

If I buy twin handsets for BT 4600 handsets, how are the 2 handsets linked to one another?  Do I need more than one phone point in my house.  I only have one phone point downstairs but I want to put the 2nd handset upstairs.  Can I do that?  Thanks

Welcome to this user forum.

They are both linked by radio, back to the base unit which is plugged into the phone socket.

How about the ability to configure so that the Automatic Answerphone pick up can be extended beyond 9 rings?  Thanks
