I have just bought a couple of BT 6500 handsets, which I have registered to a Panasonic DECT system.
I realise that mixing and matching brands like this is going to mean that some of the more advanced functions will not work, but it seems like some extremely basic functionality is also missing.
Specifically, I am unable to rename the BT handsets. The display shows "Handset ?". If I go to Menu / Settings / Handset name, I can edit the handset name. I then press on "save" and the handset gives a reassuing beep and says "Saved", but it isn't. The handset is still called "Handset ?"
Am I missing something, or is it simply not possible to rename the handsets if they are not registered to a BT base station?
