Mine does that regularly, as well as displaying power cut. I am pretty sure it could be due to the fact it is near my PC and Router. I just tell it not to reset the clock because it is always correct. Can't remember if it offers to re-connect, if not press the red telephone button
Just take handset next to Base, go to Settings on handset, then scroll through to Register press OK, then follow instructions by pressing the Find button on the Base and hold down till it beeps. This should connect your handset to the Base. Good luck !
