Hi,
I was convinced by a discussion with a BT employee on a support call a few weeks back to swap to BT for my ADSL as you'd be able to do better than the speeds I had with Sky and that when fibre is available later this year in my area BT customers have priority.
The changeover to BT was a bit of a nightmare, but I'll not go there. My gripe is with the speed I am now getting with the ADSL (which I am measuring from the hub, so it is the raw ADSL line speed into my hub).
With Sky I was getting 7.6Mbps. With BT for the past 3 days I have 4.6Mbps. I am now 5 days into my time with BT and have been told that it takes up to 10 days for the speed to settle down. 3 days consistently at 4.6Mbps seems like it has settled to me.
I am now fuming (as you can imagine). 7.6Mbps was a very low speed already and now to be at a speed some 40% slower is awful.
My calls to you support team don't seem to garner much sympathy. I am shocked that no one thinks this stinks.
Can anyone help?
can you post stats from your hub
any line noise dial 17070 option 2 should be silent and best with corded phone
enter phone number and post results remember delete number https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
it can take up to 10 days for an adsl connection to settle
being with BT will not give you any priority when fibre eventually reaches your cabinet
Thanks - Quiet line test seems fine. I only have cordless phone but no crackles etc
ADSL results attached + view of speed from the hub.
you speed problem is due to you being put on adslmax and not adsl2. I have asked mods to see if they can help you get on adsl2 they will post here
Hi @patricki welcome to the forum and thanks for posting about your broadband speed. I'm sorry that you have been connected on Adsl max when Adsl2 in available and offers a better connection. We will be happy to help get you changed over. I've sent you a Private message explaining how you can contact the forum moderation team.

Thanks for taking the time to send us a direct message @patricki. I called you to discuss, sorry I missed you.
I have placed an order to move you over to ADSL2 and this order will complete overnight. It may take a few days for the line to stabilise after the change.
I will follow up with you again on Monday to check on the connection.
Thanks for the heads up on this post @imjolly.
Matt
