Hi
I have the BT Broadband extender 600 set up. they worked fine straight out the box.
All green lights on each extender, my ethernet cable is plugged into my PC.
However my download speeds via the ethernet are only around 1MB/S, but via my standard wifi, I am getting 6 MB/S download speeds.
Why is my ethernet connection so much slower than the wifi connection??
There is ethernet cable going from the BT smarthub to the 1st extender and all set up correctly, three green lights on each, but much slower speed via the extender?
My house isn't old, it was build in the 80s.
Thanks!!
have you turned of smart setup
It perhaps isn't old, but that doesn't preclude dodgy wiring, also ensure you are not using extension leads and the extenders are plugged directly in sockets.
Try them next to each other, and try a speed test.
Are you using a surge suppressor? Generally speaking, Powerline Adapters and surge suppressors don't play nicely together
No surge suppressor.
Thanks
How many Powerline adapters do you have connected to your hub by ethernet cable? you can only have one such network
I only have the one pair.
Thanks
Have you tried a factory reset on both the hub and the extenders, I think there's a pinhole in each extender but you can confirm that from the manual
Just tried that now thanks. Still no change!
