BT Broadband 'sale'

Am seeing lots of TV ads for BT Broadband 'sale' prices from £24.99 on a 24 month contract for NEW customers only I guess. I'll remember this when it comes to my contract renewal time.

Existing customers such as I renew at £35.99 for Fibre with Halo 1. Mugs eh?

If you ring 0800 800 030, you may find that they will match that price, as they have been making efforts to keep existing customers.

We all go through the biennial ritual negotiation - BT has a price below which they won't go; it usually takes me two rounds to find it.  We have to do the same for insurance - car, house etc.  If you don't ask, you don't get.

You're comparing different packages, the £24.99 is for Fibre Essential with £19.99 setup fees, speeds are maximum 40 mbps down ad 10 mbps upload.
Your £35.99 deal has maxium speeds of 80 mbps download and 20 mbps upload, so double the speeds of the other package (depending on line speeds), then factor in Halo benefits like the keep connected promise, double data on BT mobile, fastest 4G speeds, no out of contract increase and more is why the prices vary.

Ring the Loyalty team and see what offers are available.

I think that BT have tiered offers depending on the value of your account. I have G-Fast, mobile and VIP TV pack with them and so far my renewals have been absolutely painless. I normally get offers emailed to me before the officially end date and so far have either upgraded my package for a couple of quid and got free stuff or price has stayed the same with free stuff. I've just renewed my phone and got a new phone with a £12 per month reduction and more data etc....

My negotiation calls are always long-winded as the salesperson can't believe I don't watch sport or films and don't need BT TV and don't use my mobile for calls, text - data only, never more than 500Mb a month.  I do need fast, reliable internet data for my PCs, iPads and so on, and lots of it.  I've been a BT customer for 50 years and had my openworld email address since 1997/8.  In the olden days, the deal would include new kit but now I prefer to choose my own - just moved onto a Deco M5 mesh set up.

I think the £24.99p/m price point is for the average 38Mbps Fibre Essential package. Fibre 2 with 67Mbps speeds is £29.99p/m. Well that's what this site says - https://broadbandinternetuk.com/broadband-provider-reviews/bt-broadband-review.php - which I heard about on Radio 2 recently. 

Like others I always end up ringing BT and negotiating my package.  Groan Groan ...as it can take so long!!
