BT Cloud Freezing

I'm running BT Cloud app on my Mac OS 10.15 and it has started to freeze and nothing syncs.

I've rung the helpdesk and after an hour and being put through to 5 different people and cut off twice they said "we only provide support for the Cloud account and there's nothing wrong with your account".  I should have known I wasn't speaking to anyone who knew what they were doing when he said "what does hanging mean?" when I explained my problem.

so there doesn't seem to be any tech support for the Cloud app. honestly, you couldn't make it up - no one would believe BT could be THAT useless.
