Re: BT Cloud new client version 20.6.1.0 failed

You and I obviously have the same settings!! I'm having exactly the same problem. As an IT specialist I know that this is the fault of BT's Cloud update, not my PC.

Re: BT Cloud Won't Start

This update has clearly not been properly tested.

BT should immediately provide a copy of the previous working version so that we can uninstall the failing version and step back.

Re: BT Cloud Won't Start

Same here - this is a major cockup by BT. We deserve better than this. Hopefully they will shortly realise that it's not just a few people who are affected. I tried to reinstall the desktop app and run it as the administrator; it doesn't work. Trying to access my files from the web version is also hopeless; a message appears stating that they are "Experiencing Technical Difficulties" - no **bleep** Sherlock.

Re: BT Cloud new client version 20.6.1.0 failed

Me too !!  Tried re-booting PC, failed.  Tried re-initialising it from BT site, failed.  Tried ringing - got 3 wrong sections.  Got through in the end but couldn't tell a word that was being said.  Thought she'd gone off tho get the answer, but after hanging on to a silent phone for 20 minutes I hung up.  Incidentally,  I have never been able to upload photos from my iPhone.  Told them about it months ago and they said they knew it didn't work !!!!  At least THAT was an honest answer 😞  Hopeless.

You're not alone! If you look at the other topics on the same subject, we're all in the same boat.

Re: BT Cloud Won't Start

Been using BT Cloud for years on my PC, today have to' Update' All I get is that my ID is wrong, which it isn't, popups saying '...Tech difficulties ..... try later.' Seems my cloud Photos and Video are not available and to try later! The whole thing is a shambles.

Cannot go back as BT has uninstalled the copy that actually worked and installed this load of Cr*p.

This what you get for your:  'Your prices will not go up but we will add at least 3.9% on top of RPI whether you like it or not.' So your costs go up and they install this useless software!

WAKE UP BT AND GET IT SORTED

The questions only easy if you already know the answer

Re: BT Cloud new client version 20.6.1.0 failed

Have exactly the same problem.  Forced to update to 20.6.1. Now cannot launch the application/dashboard.

FYI the Windows event viewer reports the BT Cloud Error(s)

In summary :

Faulting application name: BT Cloud.exe, version: 20.6.1.0, time stamp: 0x5ef09a9a
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.18362.1139, time stamp: 0x6a8e6b97
Exception code: 0xe0434352
Fault offset: 0x00114662
Faulting process ID: 0x4730
Faulting application start time: 0x01d6c810ea7db937

....

 and

Application: BT Cloud.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: SQLite.SQLiteException

.....

Makes you wonder how much testing was done on this before release!

I tried reverting to the last version I had 17.3.046_Production which was working fine a couple of days ago but this just forces you straight into the update cycle (ie. remove old, install 20.6.1 and fail).

I look forward to a speedy reply from BT noting that as we are stuck at a non functioning stage an automated fix by installing the next version may not be possible. ie. might need to be manual, so how do they inform all those who have just failed and given up or do not know of these forums or how to uninstall and reinstall manually.
