BT Cloud and .eml files

I have my Documents stored in Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive and BT Cloud. I use Windows 10 and its Mail app for sending and receiving emails. Some of my Documents have stand-alone .eml files and some are contained within Folders.  When using an iPad I can read these .eml files using Dropbox and OneDrive but not when using BT Cloud where the response is that this device does not support files of this type. As far as I can remember, and I have used BT Cloud since it was introduced, it has never been possible to open .eml files using an iPad and BT Cloud. There is no problem using a Windows PC, laptop or phone.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution now or in the future?
