BT Cloud on A Chromebook

Hi,

I currently have music files and photos on BT Cloud service on my Windows 10 laptop [I've had it for a few years].

Sadly, as the old laptop was ageing, I bought myself a new Chromebook instead as it was much, much quicker.

How do I access all my files in the cloud on the chromebook as I am unable to find any information anywhere regarding it being accessible on the Chrome OS.

Is this possible ?

Not sure if this any help. But unless someone else knows more, looking at the BT help pages it looks like Chrome OS isn’t supported.

So you can’t download the desktop app which your using on the laptop.

You can download all your photos and music from the BT Cloud website through the Chrome browser. That’s straightforward enough. 

But that’s not going to help with maintaining a backup from  your Chromebook  once they’re on there.

Maybe a community guru will confirm or not.

It was what I thought but was unable to find any relative info on it.  I don't know why the world is against Chrome Os as it's not the first obstacle I've come across.

That’s straightforward enough". - -  Excuse my ignorance but how do I do this and if I manage it, can I not then reverse the action and move photos from the chromebook via the chrome browser to the BT cloud ?

Sorry wasn’t ever so sure what you were trying to achieve. But when you have the BT Cloud website open you’ll see on the left hand side a number of options. One of those is a folder icon ‘All My Files’. If you click on that you’ll see the laptop that you’ve previously backed up to. And if you navigate through you’ll find the folders where your pictures etc are. You can select individual folders / items or select all. And you’ll see an option button at the top to Download what you’ve selected. 

As far as I know, and others may correct me,  but you can’t upload files directly into your existing (laptop/win10) file structure. You can only download from it.

You’ll notice there’s an ‘Upload’ button (Next to your account). And you can drag or browse files upto 2GB at a time, from your Chromebook into there. You’ll wonder where they’ve gone. They actually end up within the BT Cloud folder. You’ll find it within the ‘All My Files’ folder.

Saying all that, if you can install the BT Cloud Android apps as V_Meldrew suggested then your plain sailing I’d have thought.

Many thanks again. I do indeed have Playstore on my Chromebook and I have installed BT Cloud on it. However, it looks so different to my windows version so I am going to play about with it and see if this is suitable to me.
