BT Desktop Help - new version update

Hello

Over the past few days each time I log on the BT Desktop Herlp program says there is a new version. I click update, it says new version installed ok. I go to the help program - it says newer version available, I click to install, it installs, I open the help program, It says new version available.......you get the picture.

Any idea how to stop it showing new version available? Ic an't find an options at all.

Keith

Re: BT Desktop Help - new version update

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it from scratch?

Or maybe that should be uninstalling and leaving it uninstalled; the general advice on these forums is that BT Desktop Help is more trouble than it's worth.

Hi,

Can you right-click the Desktop Help Icon in the system tray (white ? in a black box) and select "Service Tag".

in the bottom left-hand corner in Grey text can you tell me what the version number is. Should be in a format like 12.08.01.01C

Also what OS are you usiing, XP or Win 7?

Thanks

It looks like the update never completed as the current version is 12.08.01.01C.

Do you run your PC in a user account rather than an admin account?

Don't use it to be honest. It's less than useless.

Re: BT Desktop Help - new version update

Are you confident enough to look in the registry for me at the following location?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Motive\Rainier\btbb\InstalledBundles

If happy could you paste the values for all the entries:

AGB

AXB

AXB64 (if you have a 64bit client)

CDB

OCB
