I'm using the SH2. The cap is a setting in the router as evidenced by those of us that had the 50Mb upload cap until BT changed a parameter in the Hub via a TR069 message. The only way I can get the further diagnostics is by using my BBEU which I obtained from BT some time ago. I'm not sure if they are telling customers what this is anymore. Of course the BTW speedtest advises that the further diagnostics wont be provided for packages above 330mb but the BBEU seems to get around this.

BBEU is the unique circuit identifier for your connection. You can't see it anywhere and I believe only BT or an ISP can provide this to you. Unlikely that BT will.
I also upgraded and found it a little challenging at first. I'm now getting about 875mbps down and 115mbps up. It seemed to take a little while to settle - the upload in particular was obviously being hard throttled somewhere at 50 until this morning, but that got sorted automatically.
Worth nothing that you won't get much more than 300mbps on a wireless connection with the SH2. Multiple devices will get a much higher cumulative total, of course.
You'll need an ethernet connection to max out the speed. You'll also struggle to find something which will offer you a sustained gigabit download from the other end. Many downloads (including torrents of Ubuntu, for example) just won't get that high, in my experience. After trying various Ubuntu mirrors for a direct http download, I occasionally maxed out the connection, but that was rare.
Also, I found that fast.com simply never gets above about 400mbps for me. Speedtest.net (which has a brilliant CLI version now) is by far the most effective speed tester available.
I would encourage anyone experiencing the upload speed issue to first check the Event Log in the Hub Manager. There do seem to be a number of examples where resetting the Hub might undo the Hub parameter update if already implemented by BT. In my case then the update was evidenced by the following CWMP events. See screenshot. You can filter the Event Log to just show these events by selecting TR69. Usually this will show a daily connection at the same time every day where the Hub checks-in with the ACS to check for updates (usually event code 2) and in my case an event 6 at another time of day where the event was initiated by the central server. It was this event that changed the parameter and corrected the issue for me. Not sure what event code is and if anyone can advise then I would be interested to know.

I am also still in this same position. I've tried numerous factory resets through the UI and with the button, also reboots.
I've now got my computer connected direct to the ONT to prove a point, and getting 110Mb upload no problem. Back to the SH2 and it's throttled to 30Mb!
So frustrating.
Even more so that this has been going on since FF900 launched and there's no real solution yet.

Upgraded to the FF900 package from the 250 package.
Couple of different issues for me.
1. My ASUS RT-AC68U was not delivering the full download speed when testing either wired or wireless but would always give in the region of 110 on upload
2. Swapped to the S/Hub2 😞 now getting good download (600 - 700) but seem to be max'd on the 50 upload
Anyone else had an issue using a non S/Hub 2 router?
You will need to make sure that CTF (NAT acceleration) is enabled on the Asus RT-AC68U and make sure that you don't have any QoS or parental control features enabled as that requires each packet to be inspected and the router isn't fast enough to perform that at gigabit speeds. If still not working try a full factory reset and enable CTF.
