Lucky you. I've periodically tried factory resets for the last 2 weeks. Only ever succeeded in changing between 30Mb and 50Mb upload.
Getting very close to ordering a Netgear RAX200 to fully utilise the speed.
That’s the funny thing - I initially switched to using an ASUS AC86U and got full speeds from the get go. Reluctantly switched back to the Hub as I need to use the funky new Digital Voice landline. I’ve switched off Wi-fi on the hub and use an AmpliFi mesh system for Wi-fi. Overall, pretty happy with the current setup.
Nope.. the handset uses the smart hub As a base station (there’s a DECT base station built into it). It’s possible to plug a traditional phone into the superhub as well.
Update.
My issues are now resolved.
I was asked during a call into the FTTH team to reset my router as they were unable to determine my speeds correctly.
This didn't resolve the upload speed issue.
Phoned the FTTH again …. call updated
Several hours later after testing again using a speed test I noted that my upload speed cap issue had now been resolved.
The FTTH team do recognise this issue - I mentioned this forum and that it seemed a common issue for those upgrading to FF900 and it was then fixed in hours
Question for the BT Team, I have upgraded from FTTP 250 package to 900 package - my upload has increased to the correct speed, but, the download remains stuck at 300. It's not an issue with my hardware or my local network via which I can transfer files easily across the LAN at many times faster between devices.
I've waited out time for the order to close, I've restarted the Smart-hub, I've powered off for 10 mins... I've called Fibre Support and had a fault raised which resulted in the guy who handled the call telling me that they don't agree with BT retailing these packages because they can't supply the speed....
I intend to try a factory reset of your smart hub to see if that helps although having read the comments here I am really worried I'll loose the upload speed.
Can anyone at BT help to get the 900 package set correctly on my line please?
I had a similar experience with fibre support. I was told that most computers just can’t support those speed levels. I was using a Linux computer with gigabit Ethernet so knew that simply wasn’t correct, but we just went in circles. Then I was advised to start in safe mode and I gave up.
It sorted itself within a few days. It’s a shame that support hasn’t really moved on in ten years though, I’ve had the same conversation many times.
Has anyone had any further advancements with this? Or is it just a case of waiting?
I upgraded from Halo 200 to Full Fibre 900 installed 3 days ago and have had the same download issues with my wired connection. Fast.com is maxing at around 410-430mbps, Ookla Speedtest at 200mbps and results varying all over the place (Although I have had a steady 100+ Upload speed)
I had Openreach visit today to do some tests and replace the ONT to a newer version, told me the signal is perfectly clear and full from Openreach's end, and seems the replacement has made no difference. The SH2 is showing a 1000mbps upstream and downstream
I have tried with the provided Smart Hub 2 with cat.5e cabling as well as my original smart hub and the results are the same. I have checked my LAN port on my pc is set to 1.0gbps full duplex in device manager and have reset my ONT and Hub several times.
My prior Halo 200 would always show around 200mbps on Ookla Speedtest and other speed test services.
BT don't know what the issue is, Openreach don't know know what the issue is.
No change here; my 900 upgrade went live on 14th and whilst upload is full speed the download has increased from 300 to 330 'only' and never goes any faster.
Connection is LAN CAT5E, that very same connection is able to maximise fully its capacity when transferring data from a Synology device point to point. BT have said the speed to Smart Hub is at maximum levels and in their words 'the fastest they have seen'.
The issue has to be the supplied BT Smart Hub [firmware v0.17.01.12301-BT ] but at the moment I can't get any buy-in to accept or resolve that - and - the stay fast guarantee although broken from my perspective, doesn't apply as the line is delivering full speed.
