BT Fibre 900 Upgrade / Smart Hub 2 upload throttling..... Update

Quick Update - have tried several different Laptops and wireless speeds are better than wired (into the back of SH2) which is strange as the Ethernet cards on both PC's are 1GB cards and tried "auto-negotiate & 1GB Full Duplex" - I am thinking that there is something fundamentally wrong with the SH2 ports - used 4 different cat 5e as well as a cat6 cable which made no difference - going to see what excuses the engineer comes up with when he visits tomorrow!

For anyone experience slow download speeds, see if this helps in any way,

1> see if your delivery optimization settings are throttling your speeds.

windows settings>delivery optimization>advanced options> and limit the toggles to 100%

if this still does not work you could try ipconfig reset through cmd

tried this and d/l is now at 103MB - just have to wait until tomorrow - suspect may be due to congestion? as the d/l speeds hover between 73Mb and 103MB

Hey @NeilO, the hub has been powered down once or twice since I was last at 110Mb up (was installing a UPS). My upload is still solidly at or above 910Mb. Testing just now, and it's 49Mb up.

tried settings suggested by Jamie, but I am afraid this made little difference - still suspect that ports or congestion could be the culprits as up until 7 pm yesterday I was getting sub200MB/down but 110MB up - will update after the engineer visit today

I have just upgraded to full fibre 900 from  fibre 250. The download is perfect 900mb but upload is capped at 50mb. I have tried every trick in this thread but to no avail. I guess something needs to be done at BT's end. Can any BT members on here help??

Hi @Buncy, I'm really sorry your upload hasn't improved, a firmware fix needs to be applied to your router to sort this. I'll send you a private message so you can get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Got my fiber 900 installed a couple of weeks ago and was using my router with 900/100 working just fine.

I had to change to the BT SH2 to be able to use the Digital phone and now the upload speed is maxed at 50.

Called BT and they told me it was probably a firmware issue but didn't give me any solution, just that I should wait.

Any help from you is appreciated.
