As others have said, read my post it’s all relevant 👏🏻
So an update on my issue.
Haven’t done any reboots or resets or anything and just done a few speed tests and I’m now getting 110-120 ul speed everytime now, no idea why but it appears to be sorted!
will have to ring BT in the morning and tell them to cancel the new SH2
So I checked my speed test today and it seems to be hard-capped at the 50Mbit.
The last firmware update on the hub was 19th April. (v0.26.03.01286-BT)
Could I trouble someone to check into this for me? I believe it should be nearer 100 on the upload.
Connecting directly to the ONT - I get around 80-110
(I have tried both the factory reset in the UI and using the hole in the router)
@Kendjin Thanks for posting, I'm sorry you're upload is stuck at 50Mb, the moderation team will be happy to help you with this. I'll send you a private message so you can get in touch.
You'll find the message by clicking on the envelope on the top right of the community website.
after spending a good part of the afternoon reading previous pages about upload speeds being throttled, someone mentioned that this thread/topic is the best place to get help.
I am also on fibre 900 and have noticed that my upload speed has dropped to 50Mbs, previously it was between 90 - 100Mbs depending which speed test I run.
looking forward to receiving help from one of the kind and friendly moderators in the community.
So here’s a bit of hopefully useful information. As you may or may not remember I switched from 330/50 to the 900/110 package recently and received the SH2.
I had the same issue as everyone else in a similar situation and had the 50 ul speed. I spoke to FTTP last Saturday who were pretty much clueless as to the cause of the issue, they said they’d send me out a new SH2 just to rule out a hardware issue, I didn’t think it would work, but ok I’ll try it
So on Monday morning I checked the speed on the original SH2 and was now getting 118 ul every single time. I’ve repeated the test many times since and every time it’s around 118
So I received the replacement SH2 yesterday and was just going to send it straight back as my issue seems to be sorted but I’ve swopped it out just now just to see and sure enough ul is restricted to 50. These SH2’s are being sent out with a 50 ul cap which I’m assuming is being lifted a few days after installing as per my original SH2. But it isn’t in the form of a firmware update or anything I know that for sure as I checked the original SH2 and it was on the latest firmware the day after I got it when I was still getting 50 ul. But something is going on there and I’m not sure what it is.
I will carry on using this new SH2 for the next week and see if it too gets the ul speed lifted to 110
Could any of the mods kindly PM me about increasing mine from the 50? Defo hasn’t budged in the 2 weeks since I’ve been here now, thanks! 🙂
Have you tried calling FTTP as curiously my speed went up about a day after I spoke to them, could just be a coincidence though. I’ve plugged the original SH2 back in and still getting 118 ul with that one so it’s definitely a 50 cap on them out of the box. They need to fix that as I’d imagine everyone will be in the same boat.
from my experience when I called FTTP they did all the usual checks, download speed above 450mbs, upload speed above 10mbs, my speed through SH2 is 900/50 since after firmware was updated on Wednesday (but it seems its not a firmware issue according to some posts on the forum). my speed connected directly to ONT is 900/100 which leads to believe its an SH2 problem.
The guys at FTTP did tell me that the latest firmware issued has a problem which they are looking at but it is to do with voip and streaming. They said they will pass my details to a company/department called 'Shaper' who will contact me within 72 hours when I explained that connected directly to the ONT and get speeds of 900/100.
any other information to add here is helpful.
Hi @Deejaybenji, welcome to the forum and sorry your upload is capped at 50mb and has not increased in the last few weeks. I've sent you a Private Message with details on how to get in touch with the Mod team and we'll be happy to help you get this fixed.
