It's irking me badly.  Why would a full fibre line be restricted at all?, let alone set a very poor SFG of '10' on the uploads?  I'd be disappointed with just '50' on the upload front, which don't even break a sweat with FTTP, and I'd expect '50' to be the very 'minimum' SFG on the upload rate, but '10'??  It just doesn't make sense?

FTTC, I get 21 up, so I'll actually be downgrading lol!  Crazy.

Hi @mechanimal82,

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry if you haven't seen your upload speed increase after upgrading to Fibre 900. There has been an issue with some connections where the upload speed gets stuck at a rate from the previous package. This isn't intentional. 

In most cases when this happens, it will normally correct itself within 48 hours as long as the hub remains connected. In a small number of cases, manual intervention is needed by Openreach.

Thanks @PaddyB . Hopefully you can look into it before I get my call back to cancel.

The question remains though; why isn't this something the tech support & fault teams are aware of and know how to handle? I've had a few online chats and phone calls - all of which have returned a blank. Even when I say there's a great big thread that says they need to contact OpenReach nothing happens.

I think its hard to get exact fault. I am similar boat but diff. connection. Have 150 (guarantee 100) and 30 upload...upload always close  to28-30 but download well.. pants (apart throughout the day maybe 40Mb than downhill with <2Mb/s) Fast.com 6Mb/s...I am considering cancelling and going back to the phohe line connection with stable 37Mb/s as the line cant hold more...

Mines all sorted now,, in terms of the others facing poor upload i think what makes it more frustrating is when you phone bt they have have no idea what your talking about or they just dont care aslong as you're getting 10mb. if the problem was actually acknowledged it would be helpful.

My speeds have gone back to 450/10 after getting it fixed a couple months back, haven't changed a thing since but yet the speed has gotten worse and I'm back here again 😒

Yup, throttle when your not looking 😉

The only one's who will realise, are people like me, who rely on upload speed on a daily basis, else, most would probably not care, nor notice.

If the switch can get suddenly 'flicked' one way, then it can get suddenly 'flicked' in the other direction also ;), likewise with download rate, but not so noticeable there.

The statement that 'its not intentional' is utter nonsense, and I know that for a fact 😉

Fibre is on its knees already, with hundreds of new users by the day, and only a small proportion of the country rolled out.  It's a constant 'juggling act' to keep most happy in these times.

6 months from now, that 'stay fast guarantee' will be sitting @ 500 for the 900 package 😉 Yup.

And why, lol, is such a low rate set for the upload @ 10 in first place (SFG), if we're to believe the 'line not settling at new rate' nonsense'?  Surely on a 110 upload, the stay fast wouldn't fall below 40-50 then, but 10 lol?

I think rollout of the FTTP has its own teething issues but we should not be beta testing them tbh. Its with us for few years and as such getting all older ADSL and FTTC and newer FTTP to work simultaneously without any issues has shown that a lot of times there are issues with it. Its always wonders me why we cant just have symmetrical connections there wont be and issue with capping/throttling adjusting through configs etc. It would be -  this house has 500 so bam have it and be happy.

Despite the fact that Upload is so slow you wont be noticing this that much unless you sending out big amount of data over (not to say the speeds you have for the connection you pay for are well below the assumed threshold). I am on the other have my uploads stuck at 27-30 where they should be  (for my 150/30) but download hit a new low yesterday of 0.5Mbbs 😕 Engineer came to visit, connected his laptop and said ...yup slow and escalated to Openreach ...fingers crossed they can do smth...Neighbour ordered full 900 and got 120-130 if lucky so there's something not right.

Odd one here.

Full fibre a week ago, over 910 mbs down, 114 mbs upload.  Using SH2 ( and own Asus AX86U router that provides the AX wifi and gigabit ethernet ). Realtek GBE family gigabit NIC on m/bd.

This is on PC, cat 8 ethernet wired using BT wholesale speed test.  All fine.

PC no. 2 - 

800 down 9.5 up on newer / higher spec PC sat 6 feet from the one above, on cat 7 ethernet from router.  

Both PC's up to date on win 10 64 bit.  Latest motherboard drivers, bios, Intel 1211 gigabit NIC. ( Found much newer I211 driver on Intels own site  rather than Asus m/bd driver site, unsure if to try it! )

Tried using ethernet cable used on  PC1 on  PC2 ( cat 8 ) and no change. Same router port.

Any ideas - probably answered my own question - is it a NIC issue - intel is slower than older Realtek?

Or am I missing a setting in the PC 2 Intel NIC settings?

Or should I take a flyer on the Intel own driver rather than the motherboard supplied driver?
