Shows how one would expect - Unsecured network
Spooky goings on....
(I'll dump inSSIDer and d/load it again)
I imagine its a reporting bug in the main display, showing your SSID info with the Openzone name, seems inSSIDer struggles with a router broadcasting more than two SSID's.
On mine FON shows with its own colour, but Openzone and my SSID show under the same line and colour.
Just a thought, this may be a cause of some of the problems with the Openzone hotpsot if it is actually transmitting the same mac address as our own SSID?
FON shows a different mac address
Actually a fault with inSSIDer, I just got the latest version
22.214.171.124.126 whoops! 126.96.36.199.128.. Works fine now, all seperated out and on different MAC address'
Hmm, I've also downloaded the latest inSSIDer (version 188.8.131.52.126)
And I've also been running an application that comes pre installed on the Laptop
And I've been observing very odd behaviour
(top image highlighted in green (by inssider) is my hub which then jumps to BTOz and back to mine)
(using the pre installed radar - images above)
My SSID transmitting on g
Fon on n
BTOz transmitting on n BUT with same MAC as my SSID throughout
Then mine on n
others on g
Then Fon on g
others on n
Then Oz on g
Others on n
All on g
So far not noticed all 3 on n
I am on holiday and got my laptop with me. I have a BT Fon signal nearby with an 'excellent' signal strength. Trying to connect to either the BT Fon or BT Openzone results in the 'limited or no connectivity' message.
I have tried everything with my laptop, but it works fine at home on my BT Home Hub so I do not think it is my laptop.
Also, strangely enough, my iPhone connects up without issue to the BT Fon point when using the new iPhone app.
Any ideas on whats going on?
Same here. BTFON doesn't work on my Acer laptop and HP laptop. But works fine on a Toshiba laptop.
The Acer Laptop and the HP laptop both have Atheros wireless adaptors. The toshiba has intel.
Is anyone elso who can't connect to Fon using a laptop with an Atheros adaptor?
This post is brought to you via CISCO VPN and BT Openzone 🙂
So VPN seems to work, hard to tell in an external kind of way, but seems to report all ok 🙂
I've only connected to my BTOz connection so far....
Had to enter the download file address directly, not just its parent page. Btopenzone dot com still not accessible via FON or Openzone connnections.
Note to BT - imho you really need to look into this...
if you already knew about this, it would of been nice to be told
Good to know 🙂
Yeah I have only used my own connection so far.
You got the latest version of inSSIDer? .128 Should show the networks properly, although fon and Openzone keep showing regular power drops 😞
I clicked the link you gave and then tried the zip...
as it needs registering to d/load it, I've not done this so I'm still on .126
(I'd guess that .128 is a test version - then they'll release it)
Still to see my SSID, FON and Oz all on band n.....
FON and Oz are N on mine, while my SSID is g but thats because my adpater doesn't support N. Imagine if I knocked it back to b/g only they would come back to g. (might try it)
tried it, still broadcast n even though b/g only on settings 😞
yeah .128 isn't a release build yet
