BT Graphite 2500 not ringing but screen lights up

Hi

I am hoping that someone can advise me with this issue. .As subject box suggests, our BT Graphite 2500 will not ring but screen lights up. There is a dialling tone and both  base and handset volume are set to level 5 both ring. I have plugged another phone into socket with the same result.

I have also taken the front cover of box and plugged cable into the socket, still had no luck.

I would be grateful for any help

@Busdriver11 Do BT provide your phone service, as this sounds like a faulty port on the exchange line card?

The display will still light up as it detects the CLI and line voltage change, but no ringing current will be sent to line. This is a very common fault.

Thanks for the info, it looks as if it is Virgin fault. Although I tested every thing I could even the on line tests. Regards

Thanks for your email. Apparently it is a Virgin fault, it is an intermittent problem hopefully they are coming to fix it
