Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

what model PLAs are you using for BTTV? Netflix, iPlayer Films etc. apps doesn't use Multicast they just needs an Internet connection to stream.

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

They are TP link AV600 type. Pass through ones have a socket on. Are these compatible?

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

The Datasheet states: Supports IGMP managed multicast IP transmission, optimizing IPTV streaming so don't see why they shouldn't work

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

Although when you look at the individual PLA TL-PA4020P, which is one within the kit, it doesn't mention Multicast??

It's these, AV500 sorry

So if they do support then I'm stuck again on what to do...

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

Also have these in the house
http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/TL-PA451KIT.html

So now I'm unsure if these work or not then. So you definitely need Multicast PowerLine adapters for the BT TV box?

I take it the BT branded ones definitely do, how can we tell? What exactly am I looking for?
Thanks

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

Broadband Extender 600 Kit or Broadband Extender 600 Flex are what BT supply now, if you've recently ordered BTTV you should be able to request the 600 kit for £20 but if you need the 600 Flex then ask or you may have to buy yourself.

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

I have just ordered, only activated this month, do you think this will be the best option then?

Would these mix ok with my current TP Link ones?

Could I just use one of the BT ones with the BT box and one of my TP link ones connected to the Hub? Otherwise I'd need a power socket pass through type

Re: BT HD channels missing & slow speed via powerline

Are you able to connect the Hub direct to your BT TV box and check what you get?  This would help elliminate or confirm that your powerline is at fault

Also, does your powerline have two ethernet port connections, and you have PS4 and BT TV plugged into each?
