BT HH5 - Old wifi connections

Good morning,

BT HH5 - if I log in as administrator -> advanced settings -> wireless -> home network

On this page under wired connections I have 27 items only 7 of which are active and connected. The other 20 are old - some date back over a year. If I refresh, only the current and connected show up, but repeat step one above (log in as administrator etc) they are all back.

I've done a factory reset but they are still there.

Anyone know what is going on here and how to get rid of them, if indeed that is necessary?

Thanks.

@murray451

Welcome to this user forum.

Did you do a full factory reset?

Try clearing out any temporary Internet files in you web browser.

Tried that - unless I've missed a step it didn't make any differenct to the wireless connections - it did wipe eall other settings as expected,

Re: BT HH5 - Old wifi connections

So these are only remembered wifi connections, not Ethernet connections?

Can you give an example of what you mean, do they have an IP address assigned to them?

Re: BT HH5 - Old wifi connections

For example - we had an Italian student to stay last summer - here is her iPhone entry

iPhone-di-Sofia

B4:8B:19:D7:94:9A

192.168.1.182

Not connected

The ipaddress doesn't appear in the DHCP table.

If I delete that device it simply appears again.

Re: BT HH5 - Old wifi connections

Thats odd, as a factory reset would normally clear the user configuration file where this information is stored. Have you tried accessing that page usung a different computer?

Re: BT HH5 - Old wifi connections

Yes - same result.

I do have a TP-Link network around the house. I wonder if it's picking it up from there>

It could be retaining the connection info I suppose. Try turning it off.
