BT Home Hub keeps cutting off

Hi, my BT home hub keeps disconnecting the internet several times a day and it's becoming really annoying. Is there anything I could do?

Re: BT Home Hub keeps cutting off

Does it restart itself without you touching it?

What does the event log show?

Re: BT Home Hub keeps cutting off

How do I find the event log?

No the only way to "reset" the internet connection is by switching off the hub and switching it on again, although this method is declining as it is becoming less effective, not to mention time wasting.

Also sometimes when the phone rings I notice the connection is cut off aswell, not sure if that helps.

When the internet is cut off, the internet logo/icon on the hub is not lit up like it's supposed to.

Re: BT Home Hub keeps cutting off

It could be a faulty hub.

As shown in my document, please can you connect things up as shown below.

Testing from "test" socket

I am not sure where the event log is, on the HH1.5, but it may be on this link.

Also, the test socket must be from the master socket correct? Because the hub is actually connected to the socket from my room.

Re: BT Home Hub keeps cutting off

This is what I was looking for.

Warning  Jan 1 00:00:29 KERNEL Warm restart

Did it restart on its own, or did you you restart it?

The test socket would be located at your master socket. You need to test from there, to eliminate any internal wiring issues.

Re: BT Home Hub keeps cutting off

No I manually restarted the Home Hub, I have now plugged it to the test socket. What do I do now?
