Hi everyone - thanks for looking
I am trying to install a Jablotron dome camera. The recorded images can be seen through an app and although the camera is registered it "cycles" and no images are seen
The manufacturer is saying "sometimes we have some internet providers that block automatically the ports, even if you change it in the router it doesn't make the changes. You need to contact the Internet provider and ask them to open the ports, in this case you need to ask them to open the ports 443 and 8883 and the port range from 8000 to 8500"
as Connected
I do not know how to open the ports and will be grateful if someone can check my screenshot to see if this is correct? If it isn't then please provide detail steps
Thanks once again
Solved! Go to Solution.
Unless you are trying to access the camera from outside your home network, you don't need to forward any ports.
Many thanks - Can you put this in techno language as I can’t seem to be getting through to the techI manufacturer
I forgot to add
- the images get loaded onto the manufacturers server
- I see the images via an app
Ok, as far as port forwarding goes you first need to create the rules and then apply them to the IP address of your camera. The first part of your screenshot is ok, but you need to delete the second part and just forward port 8883 rather than the whole range that you have forwarded. You also need to add a third port 443.
Once you have created the rule assign it to your camera, see https://www.bt.com/help/broadband/learn-about-broadband/how-do-i-set-up-port-forwarding-on-my-bt-hub... for further info.
However, your public IP address will be dynamic and will change. Does the camera manufacturer offer a DDNS service to track your public IP?
Thanks but I am a novice here and struggling to understand your reply.
How / where do I add rules? ...and how assign you camera?
Could you please lay out for me how the numbers should be entered as I am getting an “Invalid entry” message ...how do I show 8883 in the two fields for “Port Range” and similarly what do I do for “Translate to”
Presumably 443 will be added the same way?
i have checked your link but it misses the bits to add I am struggling with
If entering a single port number, just put the same number in all 4 fields. I haven't got a HH4 so can't give you step by step instructions but I think you should be able to select the camera. Ideally, you should give the camera a static IP address on the device itself and allocate the rule to the IP address but if not, you should allocate the rules to the device name i.e the camera.
I think that once you have created the rule (with the name shown in your screenshot) I think you need to go back to this screen select the new 'Game or application' that you have just created and select the camera in the 'Device' box .
Hi Licquorice
I think I have done it - kindly check images below. Unfortunately still cant see the images on the phone app. I think its down to the factory to sort out
many thanks - Aji
Yes, I think that looks OK.
