Re: BT HomeHub 2 broadband connection drops

it looks like the low noise margin is causing a possible problem have a look at this link and try the tips that are suggested http://forumhelp.dyndns.org/speed/noisemargin.html

Re: BT HomeHub 2 broadband connection drops

hi yes the mods can if you ask them put a fixed noise margin on a line for you this is a link to them
http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951
they normally reply by email or phone directly to you within 3 working days

They are a UK based BT specialist team who have a good record at getting problems solved

Ok use the link i have posted but make sure you ask them to fix the noise margin as a simple reset will not help you

Re: BT HomeHub 2 broadband connection drops

I don`t think its a noise margin problem, as there are no CRC events.

The error seconds count and the loss of framing indicates a serious problem, which is not going to be fixed with an increase in the target SNR.

Framing errors are a real issue, and could be due to a faulty hub, or exchange equipment.

Normally I would expect to see lots of CRC events before loss of framing occurs. Losses of framing only occur when you get very high CRC events first.

Hopefully one of the BT Care Team can get the problem investigated.

Do you have an alternative router you could try, just to eliminate that possibility?

Re: BT HomeHub 2 broadband connection drops

I might have a netgear which I got for my previous ISP but I am not sure - will have a look

Will I need any details for setting it up with a new router??

Also if it is the exchange equipment I take it I will have no control over that and have to get an engineer out??

Re: BT HomeHub 2 broadband connection drops

I think John46 uses a Netgear, so I am sure he will help.

If he does not reply, then I will try and help.
