BT Hub 5 - devices visible to each other?

Hey.

My PC connects to the hub via ethernet.

My phone connect to the hub via 5Ghz wifi.

Should they be able to see each other (e.g. open a page serverd by the PC on the mobile; open a server launched on the mobile from the PC) ?

I can't make this happen.

Regards,

John

They should be able to.  Watch out for firewalls getting in the way.

You mean the firewall in the Hub or on PC?

In case of the hub: what should be the settings?

The Hub one shouldn't get in the way.  It only filters incoming and outgoing Internet traffic.  I was thinking about firewalls on the PC, which tend to block all incoming traffic by default.

Re: BT Hub 5 - devices visible to each other?

I've just tried connecting the PC via Wi-Fi too.

Unfortunately, the devices don't see each other.

I had the devices work together on an old TP-Link router, but on BT Hub they simply don't.

First I tried on the original settings (on both PC and phone) , and then I made everything public/open on the PC - no antivirus / firewall etc.

still nothing 😞

Re: BT Hub 5 - devices visible to each other?

What if the devices don't see each other?

Is there anything mentioned about AP isolation in some manual? Because I can't even find a proper manual for the BTHub 5, just some basic leaflets..

I tried disabling firewalls, putting a device in the DMZ, connecting via wifi and ethernet...

no luck!

Please help or say it's impossible
