We have been with BT for several years for our phone line.
Recently we switched to BT for broadband as well.
As we had been with BT for some years we already had a BT login and this continues to work, we can login and check our bills, account status etc.....
However whenever we try to login to use BT Wifi it comes up with an error saying username or password is incorrect.
Is this because it is not a BT e-mail address we have as username?

That's correct. You need to set up a BTID if you don't already have one and use a BTemail address as the username and password.
This will then allow you to log onto BTWifi
If you already have a BTID you need to change the username to your BTemail address
