BT Infinity 1 Activation Time

I ordered BT Infinity 1 with landline (just moved house) on 7th October and Im still waiting for BT Infinity 1 activation .

 

I have not recived a router either but aparently thats in the post.

 

Is it normal to wait almost a month for activation ?

 

I'm being asked to pay over £60 for a BT bill although Ive yet to use any service..

 

Ive been told tomorrow is my activation day.

 

I was told earlier that I had been prioritised and it would be activated last friday along with a temp router to use but no router arrived nor activation ( I have a ZXy router )

 

So in summary : Is 18 days normal for activation ?

 

My phone line became active but of course I'll never use that just have to pay that rental as a 'tax' to use the internet.

It depends @chlld. There could be capacity issues at your exchange or cab. Without looking at the order details it's difficult to say but hopefully you'll get sorted tomorow.

I was told thats the only time an engineer can goto the cabinet.

BT Broadband, whether it be normal broadband or BT Infinity, cannot be provided until there is a working  BT Retail phone line, as its needed as part of the commissioning process.

 

Once the broadband task is issued to Openreach, it will get allocated as soon as there someone to deal with the task. Openreach deal with all providers except Virgin Media, so there are going to be other jobs before yours.

 

In order to find out what services and speed range you should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.

Please remember to edit out your phone number before you post the results.

See what status is shown against the cabinet. It should be showing "available" for FTTC.

The OP has confirmed the line is connected.

 

@chlld it's possible there could be a resourcing issue in your area meaning engineer appointments would be pushed back but again without checking the order details it's difficult to say. If there's no movement tomorrow let me know and we'll take it from there.

yep landline was activated on the 10th. but that broadband checker came back with :

 

There is no data available for this number.

 

 

 

hopefully infinity activation tomorrow 🙂
