BT Infinity 1 Speed Slowww

Hi,

I have BT Infinity 1 BT broadband since January and for the past few weeks I have been experiencing a very slow download speed, however the upload speed is fine.

I can run speed tests and one minute it will be at 2 Mbps and a few minutes later it will be at 20 Mbps, it is like a yoyo and makes streaming or trying to download games near impossible.

When i was with sky broadband unlimited i had a stable line and peaked at 2.0 Mb/s and averaged 1.8 Mb/s on steam downloads, i barely get that with BT fibre now and beginning to wish i stayed with sky now.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is the results of the relevant tests

Quiet line test is fine.

Re: BT Infinity 1 Speed Slowww

As you can EE from the stats you  have the max connection speed 40/10mb for infinity 1 and with 9days connected line appears stable

Was btspeedtester done with wired or wireless connection?  If wireless can you  Run with wired connection direct to the hub and repost stats

Re: BT Infinity 1 Speed Slowww

No faults on the exchange and no faults reported with bt in my area.

I just dont understand why this is happening, tried rebooting, resetting, new filters, the first week i had Infinity i was averaging 35 Mbps stable then when i got back from hospital its like a yoyo and never consistent

Re: BT Infinity 1 Speed Slowww

After some phone calls with india they said they would monitor my speed and will call back this saturday, but still issues on going, after 3pm it just plummets.

I noticed behind my master socket there is no wires connected, is that normal?

I have been keeping a record of speed test today

Re: BT Infinity 1 Speed Slowww

Seems to start to dwindle as the day goes on, kids coming home from school, people finishing work...could well be a capacity issue. Raise this as a fault to BT and request it's passed to BT Wholesale for investigation.

Re: BT Infinity 1 Speed Slowww

Are there no wires connected to terminals A&b on the back plate of the master Socket?  Are there wires connected to terminals 2&5 on back of detachable bottom plate?

Does the test socket work  -  dialtone?
