Hi,
I've had BT Infinity here since it was available to me (early 2011), and when first installed I got somewhere around 48 Mbps download, however over time it's dropped to around 30Mbps which has been frustrating, but still fast enough to do what I needed with it.
I've installed a new router today to replace the HH5, so have gone back to my old BT Openreach modem (together with an Asus RT-AC3200) which has given me the impetus to try and do something about the speed drop.
www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html tells me I should expect what I previously was getting - 35Mbps+

However speedtest.btwholesale.com/ shows a 29.5Mbps download against an IPprofile set at 30Mbps
Download speedachieved during the test was - 29.15 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 21.01 Mbps-30.01 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 30.01 Mbps
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 6.57Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10 Mbps
I understand that 29Mbps with an IP Profile of 30Mbps is "acceptable", however it's this 30Mbps cap which is not.
Is there something I can do to find my 'missing' 18Mbps .. or someone I can contact who might be able to do something about it?
Thanks
The master socket - it used to be an extension but a BT engineer moved it/converted it/whatever they do.
Line stats from the modem are here:
It says this:
VDSL Range A (Clean) | 49 | 35 | 10 | 7 | -- | Available | -- | -- |
VDSL Range B (Impacted) | 37.2 | 20 | 8.3 | 4.7 | -- | Available | -- | -- |
We do have extensions, yes - but only one is in use.
They were here when the speed was higher too.
It says this:

This is connected to the test socket - it doesn't look much different:
