BT Infinity 1 speed acceptable?

Hi, I upgraded a few months ago from normal braodband with the lure of faster speed and better connection, My problem now is I'm paying more for 5mps and a connection that keeps dropping out where before I was getting 6.2mps and the connection was perfect, BT keep telling me there is nothing wrong and my speed is good!

Any views?

Thanks

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed acceptable?

@Dazman

post stats from your hh6  advanced settings then technical log information

enter phone number and post results  https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html   remember delete number

run btspeedtester and then diagnostic test and post results  must be done wired and preferably with IE/Edge http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/

are you using test socket with a filter  to see if that improves your conenction

try dialling 17070 option 2  should be quiet and best with corded phone

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed acceptable?

Just an update, can't do the suggested checks as web page seems to be down, and cant find an ethernet cable, however the speed has dropped off to between 0.7 and 2mbs BTs normal speed check service came back twice as theres something wrong,so did online chat, an hour later after a very slow connection to India answering all the usual stupid questions I was told that because I had recieved 2mps which is the minimum for infinity 1 everything was ok, When I asked why it was I was getting have been getting 5mbs I was dissconected from live chat..... just like that ........

Thanks BT! custermer service to be proud of (NOT!)

So I'm not a happy bunny

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed acceptable?

I will try and do this over the weekend,  I'm just very unhappy by the way I was sold "super fast" Internet and did not recieve it, and I'm out of pocket,

I'm guessing thousands of people or more are being fleeced by BT, but do not know or care so,

Very sad

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed acceptable?

Snap. If the government insisted on a minimum public access standard of 10Mbps we'd have somewhere to go. But I understand they backed off, probably under pressure from BT
