Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

Thanks for the reply.

Is my SNR capable of 6.3?

What is G.Inp?

Should I cancel the engineer visit, I have until 2pm Sunday to do so?

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

Target snr is always 6.0dB.  G.Inp is a re-transmission technology that operates at the DSL layer rather than the TCP layer and can improve speed on error prone lines, have a read here

As to the engineer visit, difficult to say, unless he/she positively identifies a fault they won't be able to reset DLM anyway. Its a hard choice as your speed may or may not improve further but as it has improved beyond the lower limit of range A, it will be difficult to get an another engineer visit. On balance, I think I would still have an engineer visit.

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

Why 6.3? Target is 6.0 but will fluctuate around that.

G. Inp is an error correction technology

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

Thanks for the replies.

That link too me to a Reevo page lol.

I will see if it improves again over the weekend. I was just mindful that BT mention about a hefty charge if no fault is found.

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

Thanks, that's better. An interesting read.

Do you think with leaving my hub alone my speed will increase further, up to 47mb it was over Xmas.

I was prone to restarting the hub a bit too much.

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

It says in the article G.INP isn't compatible with the Hub 5 Type A which I think mine is.

Re: BT Infinity 1 speed constantly dropping

It looks like the hub rebooted itself again around 7am this morning as it currently shows 6 hours uptime. Is this normal?

Speed still around 39mb.

The HH5 isn't compatable with the upload side if G, Inp that's why BT have only implemented it on the download side.

Ergo your HH5a is fully compatable with the implementation of G.Inp BT are running.
