BT Infinity - unable to opt-out (again) from BT Wi-fi

I'm having the same problem.

Followed the links to opt out, but neither my BT ID or original btinternet address and password are recognised on the BT WiFi page.

Hi @ZooBurner try signing in to your MyBT account, then scroll down until you find Manage your extras, click on it.

Then scroll down until you read about the BT Wi-fi.

If its activated then select to deactivate it.

OR

If its not activated then activate it, then deactivate it.

Then wait about 24 hours and check the hub to see if its now showing it as Not Active. For me it changed the next morning.

Just wanted to add that since BT Wifi was disabled on my HH5, the wifi performance has been much better and far more stable. Throughput on my PC in another room of my flat has vastly improved and my phone isn't suffering from poor speeds when I'm sat in the same room as the router. All seems to be back to how I'd expect it to perform again.

Hi @JohnC2, unfortunately BT Wifi seems to have become enabled on my HH5 again. I haven't made any account changes whatsoever, I just noticed over the past couple of days that wi-fi performance has become horrendous again and when I checked the HH5 config page, BT Wifi is showing as active.

Are you able to get it disabled for me again please? Thanks!

I did, unfortunately just like last time the Opt Out button doesn't even appear.

@chrisdw sorry about that, have you tried opting out via your BT ID?

To opt out, follow the steps below:

1. Log into My BT >
2. Choose Your package and then Inclusive extras
3. Scroll down to BT Wi-fi and click on Manage BT Wifi
4. Scroll down and click on the Opt out of BT Wi-fi drop-down, and then the Opt out of BT Wi-fibutton

Remember, if you ever want to opt back in, it's easy: just log into My BT.

Here are the steps needed, with pictures Opt in or out of BT Wifi using MyBT

You will need to connected to BT Broadband to access any links I post which are hosted on my website..
If you are connected to BT Broadband, and you cannot access them, then please let me know on this thread. Thanks.

Hi @NeilO, appreciate the help but if you read my earlier posts in this thread from late last year you'll see nothing on my side works, it had to be done on BT's side.
