BT Mobile add-ons (Data) how to cancel renewal?

Hi,

 

I paid for an add-on of Data as I ran out of my contracted data. On my BT mobile account summary page it lists this add on and underneath states 'RENEWS 14/12/20'. I bought this as a one-off, why is this set to renew? There seems to be know-where to cancel this. There is just a button next to this section saying 'Manage add ons'.... but I click on it and there is no where to manage this add on and cancel the renewal.

 

Does anyone know how I stop this from renewing and charging me next month and probably the month after that and the month after that. So far my experience with BT mobile has been terrible, they have set everything up to screw you out of money.

and guess what's happening now.....

I try to do this weird convoluted cancellation and the page isn't loading.

Why do you run your business this way. Where did I even select auto-renewal for an add-on. I didn't!. And now you're wasting my time again with me having to faff about to try and cancel this.

This is why I wanted out of BT altogether, as they keep playing dirty tricks to get my money and it's never going to stop! I cannot see an end to this. I can always see some snidey way of them somehow getting access to my money.

 

On top of this, why the hell would i want to have a renewal of £16 for a 10GB data top up when I am paying £20 a month for 100GB.

Phoned them up and ranted...

Was hoping they could just cancel it, but no, they say they can't right now as I have an order in place....it is where I have lowered my contract from £20 to £8 a month, at least I hope that's what will happen, but with how things are going I will probably end up with a bill for £28 a month....

I do not understand how the fact that I have the other day set up a lower priced contract going forward from next month means that there are technical issues cancelling the add on renewals.

Now have to wait for a call back tomorrow. No idea why. But they better have cancelled it when they call me.

BT systems only allow 1active order at one time so your reduction to £8 needs to complete before you can activate another order - cancel data add on

ok, so the other day I have reduced my plan from a £20 a month high data plan to a £9 a month low data plan.

At least that's what I hope I have done.

So how does this change or 'order' complete? Will it only complete once it renews at the end of the the next monthly cycle? This is on the 14th December.

Also the add-on renews on the 14th December.

So how does this work... they are going to charge me the add-on renewal and I can't do anything about it.

This company is rinsing my wallet dry and it isn't going to stop.

They have got £200 out of me over a 1 month period. How does this even happen. Now they are going to get add-on renewal money out of me that I can't even cancel because of the system they have in place. And I am stressed out and have wasted hours messing about trying to fix things, and wasted money calling them.

I didn't even need this contract. I was with a perfectly good provider with no hidden costs, no extortionate costs, no contract, you could cancel anytime at no cost. What am I doing here. Now I am stuck for 2 years with these jokers with BT TV and internet to be set up in my house in the coming days.... I should just cancel the TV and home wifi internet from being installed here as I am scared what I am about to get myself into.

If you downgrade the mobile to a plan with less data, the downgrade will be pending until your next billing cycle, no way round that so it preserves your data allowance.

If they call you tomorrow, ask them for the £16 as goodwill, you won't be able to remove the addon until after the next billing cycle, so it will be too late to stop it from renewing.
