BT Offering free gift? Is this true?

Keep getting this message coming up:

Dear BT User, We are celebrating our anniversary, you've been selected as a winner for today's free Prize!

You need to simply answer our anonymous survey to claim it!

Leads to a questionnaire which requires answers and offers a free gift.

 Is this genuine from BT?

No, it's an advertising pop up from a 3rd party. They're part of a phishing/data harvesting scam and are normally found on websites operated by Reach PLC. Delete your browser cookies and that should clear it. 

It's not malware which is why antivirus software doesn't pick them up

Its a scam, seems to be especially bad today for some reason.

Domains end .xyz - if you can block URL's ending .xyz like I do you wont get the webpage change, I use a Draytek 3rd party router which can easily deal with it.
