Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

So ethernet devices not the cause of my disconnects either.

Help support has got me to disable legacy steering on the discs.

Anyone else wanting to try this you first need to log into one of your discs preferably the main one connected to the router. From a web browser.

Then legacy steering can be accessed from

http://btwhole.home/2.0/gui/steering.htm/

I'll update how I get on.

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

I see there's a new firmware version SGAB202226

Has anyone updated to this new version?

I'm gonna hang fire for a while.....

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

I think you said the slave discs keep disconnecting from the master.

I have been told that the Whole Home Premium firmware version number SGAB202226 has now been released and this offers an Improvement to the topology and device steering.

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

I returned my discs and got a new set. I’ve kept them on the original firmware, they are def more stable but still need rebooting every few days.

I’ll hang off another few days and see if anyone has any issues with the latest firmware.

thanks for your reply 👍

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

I have four disks (a three disk system and an additional disk which would appear to have been manufactered earlier)

I installed the new firmware (202226 - I had been running on 20121E) yesterday and the disk I have connected via Ethernet is now not working. It shows Blue in the app, orange on the LEDs and is not transmitting/receiving to any Wifi devices.

I'll call support tomorrow but for now it looks like Ethernet backhaul is borked completely by new firmware. It used to work OK (though it causes the Wifi backhaul disks to show as "connected via Ethernet" rather than the wifi details that normally appear.

What firmware are you on? Does date of manufacture affect stability ?

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

If you have just updated, have you power reset the discs yet?

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

I came home to disconnected discs yesterday afternoon so I updated to the latest firmware.

Been up for 1 day and 9 hours so far. All seems good. I've changed my setup in that I've now disconnected anything that I had via ethernet (Sonos and Sky Q) and connected via wifi instead.

My Philips Hue hub I've plugged directly into my router.

Will see how it goes over the next few days.

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

I did "power reset" the disks.  I then brought the remote disk into wifi range of the master disk and it didn't connect via WiFi ?!?!

In the end I've just finished resetting all the disks to factory defaults and the disk connected via "ethernet backhaul" has started to broadcast to clients again.  I'm wondering if there was some sort of problem with the upgrade process on that disk (perhaps the engineers expect firmware upgrades to be done via WiFi and not via ethernet backhaul).  I'll report it to support but for now I've disabled automatic upgrades.

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

**EDIT** In fact it is only broadcasting on 5GHz and not 2.4GHz so not fixed via resetting to factory defaults.

Re: BT PREMIUM WHOLE HOME WIFI - ISSUES

The new firmware hasn’t sorted anything for me. Still have disconnecting discs 😞

I’ll try a hard reset one more time but looking like I’ll return these and get the netgear orbi rbk50....
