BT PROTECT ¦ HOW'S IT WORK ?

MORNING ALL.

BT PROTECT, what is it technically.

1. A browser extension/plugin.

2. A DNS modifier.

3. MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE.

I like to be secure. Anything to keep me safe; but, not a resource-hog.
Any thoughts on the item, much obliged.

Best regards. COMPANY-PENSIONER [ Nil illegitimi carborundum ].

It works well in practice.

Basically it's just another way of preventing intrusion from unreliable websites.

I don't  think it's a resource hog. It is more likely to reduce computer Usage time and resources.

You can disable it at will, temporarily, if required.

e.g when dealing with some online / live helpers.

See http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/54056/kw/bt%20protect/c/7338,7595

From the description, it looks like a DNS intercept, which is why it works on all devices, not just ones where you install a browser plug-in.

Re: BT PROTECT ¦ HOW'S IT WORK ?

I've been using it since last year some time with no problems at all.
