I have been a BT Broadband Customer for years (warning "old" guy) which means I have been using the same BT router for some time / years. Recently I have been having internet connection problems - on My iMac, HP laptop & iPad, so not device specific. Broadband is reaching my house okay, router light is blue. But the only way I can reconnect is by physically unplugging the router, like a cold reboot. Does this mean my router is about to give up the ghost? Should it be replaced? Thanks in advance.

Try a factory reset of the home hub. Which home hub do you have?
The re-set appears to be working thanks. Hope the router keeps going! Happy now!

They do not usually fail, but sometimes the configuration gets corrupted. A factory reset restores it back to a known good configuration.
