BT Ruining my business

I've been using a voip line at work (Voice over internet protocol) supplied by BT, it's been awful, crashing and screeching for over a year, I called BT and we agreed the best solution would be to drop that line, transfer the number to my home phone and set up a call divert feature on the line. This whole process should be completed within 24 hours, HA!

it took 3 days to get the renumber done during which time I was told on several occasions it either can't be done or my business number of many years has been lost, after endless phone calls to BT that finally got sorted, so all that was left to do was add the calling feature, a simple process, should be done and active within (yet another) 24 hours HA! that was over a week ago, anyway after endless phone calls to BT and getting India who cant speak english most of the time and had no idea what "call divert" is, they kept wanting to give me caller id and other stuff i didnt want, some wanted to put a permanent redirect on my line thinking that was call divert which it isn't,  it's still not working so this morning I thought, I'll stick a message on my answerphone giving my mobile number, at least I'm contactable at work, so I did, when I got to work I called myself to see if it worked, HA! AGAIN, it seems over night some bright spark at BT has put 1571 on my line and that's picking up before my answerphone! AAAARRRRGGGHHHH! My work number has been useless for ages and has cost me an estimated £1500 in lost income, but here's the cherry on the top! as It's no longer a business line like the failed voip line was, I can't claim for my losses despite how incompetent BT have been!

Re: BT Ruining my business

Welcome to the BT Residential Customers forum

As you are a business user, please could you post on the BT Business forum at http://business.forums.bt.com/

One of the BT Employees on that forum will be able to sort this out for you, and restore your business line, and number.

I doubt that it would have been possible to transfer a BT Business number to a residential account, as you are not allowed to run a business from a residential account.

If it was a VOIP number, then this can only be provided on a BT Business line anyway, and I doubt whether a virtual VOIP line can be transfered onto a fixed line, as the number would not exist on a BT exchange.

Thanks

I'm NOT anymore, read the post, if I was a business user I would get compensated, it seems I'm a business user if it suits BT and not if it suits BT, which is it? this is now on a residential line

Re: BT Ruining my business

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.

They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are a UK based team of people, who take personal ownership of your problem. Hopefully they can get you back with BT Business again,

Once you get a reply, make sure that you are logged into the forum, then click on their name, you will see a screen like this. Click on the link as shown below.
Please do not send them a personal message, as they cannot deal with service issues that way.

For your own security, do not post any personal details, on this forum. That includes any tracking number you are give.

They will respond either by phone or e-mail, when its your turn in the queue.
Please use the tracked e-mail, to reply, not via the forum. Thanks

I have already logged complaints with BT, so what more can be done?

Re: BT Ruining my business

Great, Just what I needed yet another 24 hours of no customer calls or is it 48 hours?

Thanks for getting in touch.

We just want you to know that we've got your e-mail. This is an auto response, so you don't need to reply.
Our aim is to get back to you in 24 hrs. But at busier times, it could take us up to 48 hrs.

Either way, don't worry we'll be in touch. Your reference number is xxxxxxxxxxxx.

Best wishes,

Forum Moderation Team

Please take up the offer of help from DavidM, as he is part of a specialist team, and your request only goes into their queue.

Re: BT Ruining my business

I filled in the form, what I really want is a CEO's email or phone number so I can rant from the top down.

I am just a BT customer, however I do know that DavidM and the team is very good at sorting things out, and the CEO  would only forward your details to a specialist team. Also the CEO is different for Business and Residential, so your complaint would have to be directed towards BT Business, as they seem to be the ones that have caused your problems.
